West Vancouver British Columbia
On a cliff-side property overlooking Howe Sound, this home was turned into a peaceful retreat, integrating the couple’s collection of art. A solution was needed to bring in as much natural light as possible into a home surrounded by old growth forest facing north. For this reason, glazing and skylights were designed as prisms, reflecting sunlight to darker areas. Long spans of expressive structural steel allow for uninterrupted panes of butted glass, opening the home to its natural setting. The property’s prominent granite outcroppings become anchor points for the wine cellar and master bath.
